This is not a road!

This is not a road!

This is what they call a "white road" in Italy. When I read the description in the details of the accommodation, I thought oh how pretty. But as we drove along it, bouncing and jumping all over the place I grabbed hold of the handle and hung on, it didn't matter how slowly we drove, it was horrible. After that hubby had to do all the driving. Strangely the few cars we saw driving along it went at a hell of a pace, throwing up rocks, stones and dust as they went. Maybe Italian cars have better suspension.

Road (n) - An identifiable route, way or path between places. Roads are typically smoothed, paved, or otherwise prepared to allow easy travel .

Track (n) - A path or rough road which is made of soil rather than having a surface covered with stone or other material.

Path (n) - A route or track between one place and another, or the direction in which something is moving.

So, it's not a road guys, it's a dirt track or a rough road or a rocky path, but it's not, by any stretch of the imagination, a road that's pretty and white!
