English In Use - 'Overcome with Emulsion"

A selection of headlines from stories in the news. They use English in a way that you might think is intended to confuse but it's all perfectly clear to the native speaker.

The Metro leads with a story about a car crash, after a driver in Washington USA crashed his car, which happened to be carrying pots of paint, and got covered (along with his poor doggy) in paint.  Luckily, it appears the man wasn't badly hurt, but I do have to question the taste of the photographer who took the photos of him whilst he was injured in his car.  Maybe the guy gave his permission... Hmm.

The headline takes the phrase "overcome with revulsion", which is said when someone is disgusted by something, and replaced revulsion with emulsion, a type of paint.

In the online version the headline is "Brush with death".  If you have a brush with death, you nearly die, but of of course a brush is also something you paint with.  Get it?
