English In Use - 'Tatt's Unbelievable'

A selection of headlines from stories in the news. They use English in a way that you might think is intended to confuse but it's all perfectly clear to the native speaker.

Keeping it simple is often the best way to make a headline effective.  A good example of this appears in The Daily Star, which headlined a story about some of the offerings on show at the London International Tattoo Convention 'Tatt's Unbelievable', substituting 'Tatt' for 'That'.

Tatt is slang for tattoo.
