Learning a language at 36,000 feet

Following hot on the heels of Virgin Atlantic (see earlier this month), Singapore Airlines is launching the Berlitz® Word Traveller, a fully interactive language learning programme which will enable passengers (in Economy, Raffles and First Class) to start learning a new language during the course of the flight.

"Singapore Airlines customers visiting a foreign city no longer have to rely on communicating using hand signs and wild gestures, as the new language learning service is designed to equip them with a practical grasp of a foreign language through the use of key words and phrases," said Singapore Airlines General Manager New Zealand, Mr Sak Hin Chin.

Obviously Mr Chin has a lot of faith in the memory of his passengers. If someone would like to buy me a ticket on this airline I will be happy to review the product.
