English In Use - 'Woman Heel-y Angry With ATM'

A selection of headlines from stories in the news. They use English in a way that you might think is intended to confuse but it's all perfectly clear to the native speaker.

Sometimes headline writers think they can get away with being just plain silly with their efforts. Take The Sun's offering of 'Woman Heel-y Angry With ATM'.

This is a story about a woman caught on CCTV at a cashpoint in Chippenham, Wilsthire, attacking a machine 50 times with her stiletto shoe!

It is not clear whether she withdrew any of her cash or if the card was swallowed by the device. The headline merely substitutes the word 'Really' with 'Heel-y'.  Heel - get it?

Best thing is - the video is on YouTube.
