A selection of headlines from stories in the news. They use English in a way that you might think is intended to confuse but it's all perfectly clear to the native speaker.
There's another film tie-in for this headline in the Daily Mirror, that school dinners are facing new guidelines to reduce the amount of fat and sugar. The 1939 film, Goodbye, Mr. Chips was based on the 1934 novel Goodbye, Mr. Chips by James Hilton, the film is about an aged school teacher and former headmaster of a boarding school who recalls his career and his personal life over the decades. It was voted the 72nd greatest British film ever in the BFI Top 100 British films poll.
I doubt the story under the headline will be as popular with today's schoolkids, because it looks as if chips will be off the menu.
