English In Use - Apple Crumbles

A selection of headlines from stories in the news. They use English in a way that you might think is intended to confuse but it's all perfectly clear to the native speaker.

The Daily Mirror had fun with the story of how Taylor Swift took on Apple's new iTunes streaming service when they decided to offer 3 months free trial, which meant the artists would not be paid. When she threatened to withdraw all her content, they did a swift u-turn (get it).

To crumble can mean to collapse, or fall apart, but an apple crumble is a very popular pudding in the UK.  http://www.learnenglish.de/recipe/applecrumble.html
