A selection of headlines from stories in the news. They use English in a way that you might think is intended to confuse but it's all perfectly clear to the native speaker.

Split a word up and it can have a completely different meaning. A Daily Mail story that the Scottish town of Moffat has held its annual sheep racing contest in which costume clad ewes with hand-knitted jockeys on their backs race along the High Street drew the headline of 'It's A Lamb-orghini', a play on the name of the rather sporty Lamborghini car.
