Initially, the focus will be on matching 60,000 English-speakingprimary and secondary / K-12 schools in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia,New Zealand and Ireland with schools in China, enabling Chinese teachers andstudents to practice English language skills while English-speaking schoolslearn Chinese history, culture and language.
The company will integrate basicChinese and English language learning tools into the portal as well as thecompany's proprietary school-safe, multi-lingual email and eMentoring tools topower the collaboration between classrooms.
ePALS currently connects 4.6 million educators and students in191 countries and receives 1,500 to 2,000 new school registrations each monthfrom teachers seeking to connect their students with foreign classrooms. TheChina Portal is an extension of the company's existing global network and thefirst ePALS countrywide version.
