Every month I choose a photograph from Flickr to appear here.  Hopefully something interesting and informative.

This month's photo is called "Thatch" and was taken by Yettis Doings. 

 It was taken in Melbourne, not Melbourne Australia, but Melbourne Derbyshire!

The photograph shows a row of thatched cottages.  The accompanying text says "Ye olde thatched cottage built in the 16th century".

Thatching is the art or craft of covering a roof with vegetative materials such as straw, reed or sedge.
