Every month I choose a photograph from one of my Flickr groups to appear here. Hopefully something interesting and informative.
This month's photo is from Judo Dad. It's called "Beach Runner" and was taken in France. It shows a child running along a beach in Normandy, France.
The text accompanying the photograph reads, "During World War II Omaha Beach was the code name for one of the principal landing points of the Allied invasion of German-occupied France in the Normandy landings on June 6, 1944. The beach was located on the northern coast of France, facing the English Channel, and was 5 miles (8 km) long, from east of Sainte-Honorine-des-Pertes to west of Vierville-sur-Mer."
