Every month I choose a photograph from Flickr to appear here. Hopefully something interesting and informative.
This month’s photo is from Judo Dad. It’s called “RTH”. It’s a close up of a Red Tailed Hawk, a bird of prey native to North America. It’s colloquially known in the United States as the “chickenhawk,” even though it doesn’t eat chickens.
The caption on the photo reads, “The Red-tailed Hawk has significance in Native American culture. Its feathers are considered sacred by some tribes, and are used in religious ceremonies. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.”
