English in use - Fins can only get batter for Ali

A selection of headlines from stories in the news. They use English in a way that you must think is intended to confuse but it it's all perfectly clear to the native speaker

'Fins  can only get better for Ali' is a headline in the Sun newspaper about a sea turtle called Ali who lost three of her four flippers in a shark attack. With only one left, this meant she could only swim in circles and struggled to resurface after diving. An attempt by her keepers in Texas to fit a prosthetic flipper to her left nub failed earlier this year but they have now given Ali her own wetsuit and attached a special polycarbon fin to it.

The headline is a play on the 1994 UK No 1 hit ' Things Can only Get Better' by D:Ream which was adopted by Tony Blair's Labour Party as the theme song for their 1997 General Election victory.
