Stephen Fry is a bit of a hero of mine.  I sort of feel he is Britain’s modern day Oscar Wilde, something he probably wouldn’t thank me for.  In his book “The Liar” he borrows from some of his own public school experiences (remember, public school in the UK = private school anywhere more sensible).   There is a laugh a page as he  mixes fiction with fact describing how Cambridge undergraduate Adrian Healey (presumably Stephen’s alter ego) attempts to demonstrate his literary brilliance by forging an early work from Charles Dickens.  The book isn’t all light and fluffy though, it provides a frank and often shocking look into university life, covering fagging, homosexuality, suicide and Piccadilly rent boys, so you have been warned.
