A selection of headlines from stories in the news. They use English in a way that you might think is intended to confuse but it’s all perfectly clear to the native speaker.

The Daily Mail turns to Shakespeare for help in its  headline about champion bull Boxster who has been kept in quarantine for 10 months because of suspected bovine tuberculosis (TB), following tests at a farm in Stubbs Walden, near Doncaster. Farmer Ken Jackson refuses to accept the test results because of what he claims are technical irregularities. His attempt to save Boxster from slaughter has been boosted by a court granting a juidical review of the decision. The headline of ‘TB Or Not TB’  is a play on the famous line from Shakespeare’s  Hamlet, ‘To Be Or Not To Be.’
