Have I lost it? Well no. The words Koob and Zort don't exist, but the PTB have decided to include a number of made-up words like this in the new reading test for six-year-olds in England.
The UK Literacy Association has said the plan is "bonkers" as the purpose of reading is to understand meaning. The government defended the idea by saying non-words were being included to check pupils' ability to decode words using phonics.
