A selection of headlines from stories in the news. They use English in a way that you might think is intended to confuse but it’s all perfectly clear to the native speaker.

‘A Wheel Addiction’ is the Daily Star headline in a story about Paul Riddick, 67, from Shefford, Bedfordshire, who they reckon must be the most prolific car buyer in the UK.  Since passing his driving test in 1959, he has owned more than 400 family vehicles, averaging eight a year. The headline substitutes the word ‘Wheel’ for ‘Real’.
