English In Use - Clucky Escape

A selection of headlines from stories in the news. They use English in a way that you might think is intended to confuse but it's all perfectly clear to the native speaker.

This headline from the Sun was used on a story about a couple who survived their car being crushed by a lorry carrying chickens.  The headline is a play on the phrase "lucky escape", which is used to describe surviving a potentially dangerous or unfortunate incident.  The Sun has used "clucky" instead of "lucky" because we use the word "cluck" to describe the sound a chicken makes.
