English In Use - An icer place

A selection of headlines from stories in the news. They use English in a way that you might think is intended to confuse but it's all perfectly clear to the native speaker.

This Sun headline is from a story about how roadkill is being tackled by Worthing and Adur council in the UK.  They freeze any cats and dogs  found dead on the road by council workers, in case their owners come forward to collect them.  Sadly they have stored more than 100 cats and dogs in the last two years, even more sad is the fact that  only 1% of owners turn up to collect their pets.  I suppose they would have to defrost them before burial.

The headline "An icer place" is a play on "A nicer place".
