English In Use - "You Silly Tweet"

A selection of headlines from stories in the news. They use English in a way that you might think is intended to confuse but it's all perfectly clear to the native speaker.

'You silly Tweet' is the headline on a story in the Daily Mirror, about a teenager (I won't name her) who was offered a job in a pizza shop (I won't name it).  Unfortunately she was fired before she even started!

Why? Well, she went onto Twitter and tweeted: "Ew I start this "bleep" job tomorrow. 7 x Thumbs down.

In the headline, the word "twit", as in "You silly twit", has been replaced with "Tweet", a posting made on the social media website Twitter. Privacy settings would probably have been a good idea.
