English In Use - 'The Farce Awakens'

A selection of headlines from stories in the news. They use English in a way that you might think is intended to confuse but it's perfectly clear to the native speaker.

'May the force be with you' is an iconic line from the Star Wars films. No surprise then that the Daily Mail headline writers used it for inspiration for the headline 'The Farce Awakens' on a story that Star Wars fans crashed UK websites as they sought to buy advance tickets for the new film, replacing the word "force" with "farce" which means comedy.
