According to findings from the 2019 Global Drug Survey, drinkers in the UK get drunk more often than anywhere else in the world. It appears Brits are getting drunk almost once a week.
The report studied drinking habits in 36 countries, although there is an overall downward trend of drinking levels in the UK and abstention is on the rise, particularly among young adults. However, even though fewer people are drinking, many are doing so in a potentially harmful way.
It seems English speaking countries lead the way for how often their citizens get drunk. The USA, Canada and Australia closely follow the UK at the top of the global rankings.
