According to a survey carried out by German broadband association Bitkom, around 84 percent of German twenty-somethings (19-29 year olds) said they would rather do without their current partner or an automobile than give up their Internet connection.
(Living without a mobile phone was also unthinkable for 97 percent. I would quite happily give up my mobile phone, but I would think twice about giving up my net.)
