On the Learn English Network we often come across things that are interesting, that we feel we would like to share. Sometimes they are fun things, sometimes they are interesting things, sometimes simply weird things and sometimes they are sad things, but they all make us think and so we are going to share them with you here.

If you’re trying to improve your English, just read these factlets, they are nice and short, and you can double click on any words you don’t know.  Try recording them and share the recording here, or check out the Interesting Questions on the English Magazine, and see if you can answer the questions.

If you are teaching English use the facts in your lessons as conversation starters.

If you have a question, or if you think a fact is wrong, let us know in the comments.

And remember, just about everything that is considered to be a fact today, will probably be disproved some time in the future.  After all, once upon a time, everyone thought the world was flat.

We have tried several times to record these factlets, but the fact is podcasting is tricky.  Our first platform, Odeo, disappeared into the ether and years later we’re still trying to mop up the mess they made.

You may find recordings from Acapela TV (a fun cartoon service), but even they aren’t immune to the mystery that is the internet.

This means recordings may come and recordings may go, but the fact remains it will still be interesting.
