It’s really embarassing and it has been over a week now, but I still don’t have a working computer. From what I thought was a simple (but noisy) hard drive crash, I have now been informed (by my beloved) that I need a new heat sink, fan and chip (mine is damaged). $$$$$$
I now spend half my morning on the way home in an Internet cafe, or the library, trying desperately to keep up to date with my forums etc. And asking friends to upload files onto my web space. Advantage – I get coffee brought to me (well not at the library).
I have determined that I need a back-up computer. So my next savings plan (once I have paid for all these bits of hardware) is towards a nice, shiny, new laptop.
So, wish me luck and eventually I might even manage to get back onto Pal Talk and start the lessons again.
