Christmas

The houses are all decorated
The fireplaces glow.
It’s our favourite time of year.
What is it?  Do you know?

Christmas time is here.
A time of cheer and winter play.
Let’s ski and sled and skate all day.
With sisters, brothers and country cousins.
O’er wintry hills we’ll climb.
We’ll make snow angels and build snowmen,
Until it’s dinner time.

The town is full of magic,
Streets and stores are hung with lights.
Let’s shop for presents and gifts for mum,
On cold and sparkling nights.

This time of wonderful traditions,
That we wait for all year long.
These traditions bind us together,
They’re the things that keep us strong.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Everywhere you go;
Take a look in the five and ten, glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Toys in every store,
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.

A pair of hop-a-long boots and a pistol that shoots
Is the wish of Barney and Ben;
Dolls that will talk or will go for a walk
Is the hope of Janice and Jen;
And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Everywhere you go;
Now, there’s a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well,
The sturdy kind that doesn’t mind the snow.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas;
Soon the bells will start,
And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart.

We wish you a merry Christmas,
We wish you a merry Christmas,
We wish you a merry Christmas,
And a happy New Year.
